Five goals in the scorching sun - and three big points in the hunt for promotion.

"Nàstic Nàstic, crida l’afició
Nàstic Nàstic, ets el millor
ets la tradició i l’orgull,
el degà entre els clubs de l’esport.
Nàstic Nàstic, crida l’afició
Nàstic Nàstic, ets el millor
canten els petits, criden els més grans
Nàstic, ho sap tothom."

"Nàstic Nàstic, the fans shout
Nàstic Nàstic, you are the best
you are tradition and pride,
the dean among sports clubs.
Nàstic Nàstic, the fans shout
Nàstic Nàstic, you are the best
the little ones sing, the older ones shout
Nàstic, everyone knows it."

If you didn't know the himno, now you do. Or at least the chorus.

My first visit to the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada was a bit of af a disappointment. Nastic played Amorbieta, who sits at the bottom of the table. Everyone expected an easy victory for the team in red. But alas. The rather cold afternoon in late January ended in 1-1 and the atmosphere was rather bad.

But this weekend was a bit better. Or, a hell of a lot better to be honest. Both in the stands and on the pitch. Nastic and Ponferradina battle at the top of the table, just behind leaders Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa. A top of the table clash.

The visitors started stronger. More fluid in their passing and aggressive in the final third. But it took a defensive misstake from Nastic for Alex Mula to find the way through the back line and score. Right in front of the home ultras.

But this just opened up the game and that suited Nastic a whole lot better than Ponferradina.
Roared on by the nearly full stands (apart from a section of the upper tier that was closed for some strange reason) Nastic put the pressure on.

Just before half time Nastic gets a penalty.
And up steps El Capitan - Joan Oriol - and smashes it in and levels the game.

The second half was just Nastic from start to end.
Ponferradina had some decent passages of play but the home team was ruthless on the counter attack.

Victor Narro's 3-1 goal is an absolute gorgeous goal. Great technique receiving the ball and the finish is just top class.

You can watch the highlights below.

Spanish football is a bit different from British football. It's a bit more focus on the technical side of things. It's not as physical at all. Mostly because the players exaggerate a bit - and all seems fine with it. And to be honest. It is quite nice. It's more focus on the beautiful side of football rather than the brute side of things.

Vamos Nastic!
